As stated in the obituary of his father, William died at the age of 17. The 1900 US Federal Census lists William with his family, but it appears that the birth dates of William and his sister, Ola, are reversed. From other census records and the California Death Index for his sister, Ola, it is known that Ola was born 22-Dec-1895. The 1900 US Census lists William on the line for Ola's birthdate. So, it can be assumed that William's birthdate is the date listed with Ola on that Census form, making his birthdate Aug-1886. The cause of his death is unknown. Presumably he died in Wisconsin since his father, George, moved back to Wisconsin from California after his wife died in 1900. William was almost 14 years old when his mother died.
