The 1900 US Federal Census creates some confusion regarding the birthdate of Ola and her brother, William. From the other census records and the California Death Index, the birthdate of Ola is certain, and confirms that the 1900 US Census had the birthdates of Ola and her brother switched.

Ola's mother died when Ola was 4. As the obituary of her father states (presumably written by Ola), Ola went back to Wisconsin with her father in 1900 after her mother died (they lived in Waupaca County in Wisconsin, a county east and adjacent to Portage county, which contains Belmont, the home of her father when he was growing up). She eventually went back to Ventura, California with her husband, and her father lived with them until he died in 1933. The 1930 US Census shows Ola and her husband living in the Ventura area, and states Ola was 33 when she married, which would place the time of marriage between 22-Dec-1928 and 21-Dec-1929. From the California Death Index, her husband, Francis Allen Witt was born 11-Oct-1890, and the 1930 US Census states he was 39 when married. So, Ola and Francis must have married after his 39th birthday, or after 11-Oct-1929, and before her 34th birthday, or 22-Dec-1929. Her husband, Francis, died in Ventura on 09-Oct-1967 at the age of 76, two days shy of his 77th birthday. Ola was 71 at the time, and she was 88 when she died in Ventura. There are no known children from her marriage with Francis. They were married for about 37 years.
