Blanche Lincoln married Oscar Johnson when she was 17 (his birthdate and death date are unknown). After she had three children, Oscar left her in 1917 and Blanche was placed in an institution where she remained until her death. The Social Security Death Index states her death as 15-Feb-1968, whereas the document by Florence Phelps Lincoln (sister-in-law to Blanche) states her death as 10-Feb-1968.
After Blanche was institutionalized, other family members cared for the children. Blanche's mother cared for the children for some time, but then she died in 1922 (according to the document by Florence Phelps Lincoln) when the oldest child, Roy, would have been 8. The first son, Roy Johnson, appears in the 1920 US Census with his uncle, Leslie Lincoln (brother to Blanche). The other two children, Mable and Albert, were reared in Canada by a sister of Oscar Johnson. Leslie Lincoln adopted Roy, and Roy took the last name of Lincoln. A California Death Index record shows he was born 19-Apr-1914 and died 01-Jun-1995 in Ventura county.
