Leonard was born a twin (his sister was Hannah). US Census data indicate Leonard was a farmer. From family records, Leonard died in 1907 at the age of around 63, but his exact death date and location of death are unknown. His first wife, Betsy Emma died 06-Dec-1869 (from family records of Blaine John Lincoln), and they had a son, Emery. Notes from Larry Combs state Emery was born in 1868, so Leonard and Betsy Emma were likely married around 1867 when Leonard was around 23 years old. Leonard married his second wife, Annie Retallick, when he was 27 (she was 20), and they had several children. Notes from Larry Combs state Leonard was buried in East Hodgdon Cemetery in Hodgdon, Maine (located on White Settlement Road), along with Betsy Emma and Annie Retallick.
The birthdate and surname of Betsy Emma are unknown. Presumably, Emery, her son with Leonard, died around the same time as Betsy Emma, as neither are listed with Leonard in the 1870 US Census.
Leonard's second wife, Annie Retallick, was born 21-Jul-1851 and died in March, 1945 (bot dates from family records of Blaine John Lincoln), at the age of 93. US Census records indicate she was born in Canada. She was around age 56 when Leonard died. The 1930 US Census shows her living with one of her sons (James Blaine Lincoln) in Hodgdon, Maine.
