Jacob was a farmer and a constable in1728. He lived in Hingham Centre, a town close to Hingham, Massachusetts. He married Ruth Merritt of Scituate, Massachusetts, when he was about 37 years old, and after Ruth died, he married Lydia Ward when he was about 48. Jacob died around age 49, a couple of months after his last daughter was born. Jabod died leaving no male heirs. All his daughters were born in Hingham, Massachusetts.
Jacob's first wife, Ruth Merritt, died 16-Oct-1721 (age unknown), about a year after the birth of their second daughter, Sarah.
Jacob's second wife, Lydia Ward, was born in Hingham, Massachusetts, on 15-Jun-1705. She married Jacob when she was 22. After Jacob died (Lydia was 24 at that time), Lydia remarried just four months later to Joshua Johnson on 29-Apr-1730.
